Jeff Lubsen Helps Clients With Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, Trauma, Relationships And Other Counseling Matters

About Me

I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Iowa and have two years of post-graduate training at Walden University where I am currently completing my Masters of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling.  I will continue my education in the fall of 2012 as a PhD candidate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education.

I have over 4000 hours of mental-health based community service with various non-profit community-based agencies.  I am currently the organizer of the LGBT-Affirmative Therapists Guild of Greater Kansas City, a grass-roots organization dedicated to helping individuals find affirming and culturally competent health care.  My experience has encompassed working with adolescents, adults, and elderly who are dealing with gender and sexual identity, substance abuse and addiction issues, chronic illness and impairment, and early trauma and PTSD.

In my previous career I worked as an organizer, writer, and educator for the entertainment industry.  During the course of my career I had the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings and derived great satisfaction from helping others overcome obstacles, identify inner strengths, and develop their personal skills.
